The fun details!
The Great Hall is seventeen foot by thirty-five foot, with a twelve-foot ceiling, with cedar lined walls and real stone
fireplace, piano, two full couches, two recliners, two upholstered chairs, massive antique
European oak cabinet, round game table, and four chairs, with more folding tables and chairs in the nearby closet.
There are seven large bedrooms. The spacious Master Suite has a King bed, carved oak
entertainment center with TV DVD player, ceiling fan, vintage waterfall
vanity, private deck, private bathroom with
oversize Jacuzzi recliner tub. The two other large bedrooms on this upper floor
have queen beds. One of the bedrooms on the main floor has a queen bed
and the other has a full size bed, with a baby pack-and-play in the closet.
There are other sleeping areas in the caslte, for a total of about twenty-eight.
There are four bathrooms. One family bathroom is on the main level, and another is
on the upper level, both have their sinks divided from toilet/tub area for
multiple person use, plus another “throne” room is easy access on lowest
entertainment level, and the Master Suite has its own private
bathroom. Towels and linens are provided.
The large well-equipped kitchen is open to dining room and the family room. The centrally
located radiant stove in an island with a chopping block. There is a microwave oven, toaster oven,
family fridge with lower freezer and full upright freezer, a second family fridge off the kitchen.
There is also a toaster, blender, two waffle makers, coffee maker, plastic and ceramic dishes, plastic and
glass cups and mugs, tableware, table clothes, cloth napkins, full kitchen
utensils and knife set, new gas grill on the kitchen deck, etc.
The convenient dining room seats 10, and five more at breakfast bar.
There is also another table and four more chairs nearby, as well as some folding tables and chairs.
The family room features a freestanding wood stove (wood is provided), entertainment center (Blu-Ray and HDTV),
with a selection of over 150 movies (many are medieval themed), couch, loveseat, recliner,
swivel rocker, toys, baby saucer, porta-crib. Note that there is no cable television or antenna signal
for broadcast television. There is free broadband wireless internet access. (Guests have connected their
laptop computers to the television to watch sports programs over the internet.)
The relaxing well-stocked library includes classics and contemporary books, many of which are medieval themed.
It has a bay window seat, recliner, and a large antique desk suitable for office work.
There is also a romantic tower retreat with a single bed, antique spinning wheel, and an amazing view.
There is also a large comfortable bonus attic room fully equipped to sleep seven girls.
The bunk room on the dungeon level has knight and dragon costumes.
The castle in a secluded forest setting, with many opportunities for outdoor exploration and games.
The large fenced back yard is great for kids to play in, with some playground equipment.
The cement back dancing patio has a fire pit, man made waterfall, picnic tables with
benches and extra seating on the wall, and several different levels. There are fruit trees, a hammock,
badminton, volleyball, capture the flag, many yard games, etc. The private outside master suite deck
is great for looking at the stars.
